Cap-Haitian

Hace dos semanas que llegué a Cap-Haitian. Es la segunda ciudad de Haití y cuenta con una población de 100.000 habitantes, que conocen el lugar como O’Cap. La decadencia del lugar tiene cierto encanto y parece que hay muchas cosas que visitar en los alrededores. Las calles son estrechas y están dispuestas en cuadricula. Comparada con Puerto Príncipe, la ciudad tiene un ambiente relajado. No obstante, la pobreza de los suburbios que se extienden hacia el sur es igual que la que se puede ver en la capital.

I arrived in Cap-Haïtian two weeks ago. It is the second-largest city in Haiti with a population of 100,000 (known as O’Cap to the local). The city is very run-down in a charming way and there are plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area. The streets are narrow and laid down in a grid system. In comparison to Port-au-Prince, the city has a relax atmosphere. However, the poverty in the slums to the south of the city equals that found in the capital.
